Abacus Computer Society
The seed for the ABACUS Society in GLA University was first sown in the year 2009 with a handful of IT enthusiasts, students, and faculty members who felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast-emerging sector. The purpose of the society is educationally directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science & IT. The idea is to spread knowledge and provide opportunities to as many interested people as possible. The objective of this society is to convene conferences, workshops, campaigns, and training programs for the students as well as for the general public in order to impart Information Technology awareness.
IEEE Student Council
The IEEE Student Council is a student branch of the IEEE GLA Chapter, where IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. IEEE conducts International and National Events, workshops, & webinars. It mainly focuses on research-oriented studies and is known for its world-class research projects.
Cyberonites Club
Cyberonites is the technical wing of the departmental society ABACUS. This club focuses on Cybersecurity and aims to enhance and sustain a fundamentally secure environment for IT-based administration in organizations by improving knowledge and designing effective cybersecurity policies.
Google Developer Groups
Google Developer Group (GDG) On Campus is an independent, student-led developer community recognized under Google’s GDG On Campus program. Driven by a passion for technology, the community empowers students and developers through hands-on workshops, collaborative learning, and impactful tech events. As part of the global GDG network, GDG GLAU fosters innovation, skill-building, and strong connections within the wider tech ecosystem, both on campus and beyond.

GeeksforGeeks Student Chapters are dedicated to cultivating a colorful coding tradition inside the university. Aashayein
Aashayein is an initiative of ABACUS Society under the Department of Computer Engineering & Applications. This social club is focusing on eradicating poverty and social injustice. As education is both the means as well as the end to a better life because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one’s rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.
Datum Club
It is the only Data Science club in GLAU that educates members on what exactly Machine Learning is and the possibilities for its growth in the future. DATUM emphasises developing the interests of members in ML. The club aims to make members familiar with ML frameworks’ best practices. The club’s prime objective is that the members should understand ML algorithms and their real-world uses. The club focuses on making the students job-ready with the holistic knowledge of trending technologies like Data Science & Machine Learning.
